PROCEEDINGS OF THE ANNUAL TOWN MEETING
TOWN OF ELK RIVER
March 13, 1962
The Town Board of Elk River township met at the Court house for the Annual Town Meeting. The
meeting first order of business was the appointment of A. L. Powell as Moderator
This year the balloting is first followed by the business meeting at 7 o’clock. The following persons
voted

2 Specht, Everett
3 Schulke, Earl
4 Peterson, Mrs. Bert
5 Peterson, Bert
6 Moldenhauer, Irvin
7 Hinkle, Richard
8 Chris Nielson
9 A L. Powell
10 E. V Rathbun
11 Verna Specht
12 Erwin Specht.
The business part of the meeting was called to order by the Chairman Earl Schulke. The following
business was transacted. The treasurers report was read and approved. A motion was made that a
transfer be made of 5,000 from \[R\]evenue \[Fund\] to Road & Bridge \[Fund\]. Motion made by Irwin
Specht and Seconded by Mel Peterson. Motion Carried. It was moved by E. Specht to raise $7500.00
for R\[oad\] & Bridge \[Fund\] Seconded by E. Schulke. Motion carried. A motion was made to raise
$7500.00 \[R\]evenue Fund made by Earl Schulke Seconded by I R. Moldenhauer. It was moved by
Mel Peterson seconded by E. Specht. that 1 mill be levied for fire protection. It was voted to raise 1
mill for Poor \[F\]und. It was made and seconded that we pay gopher bounty. Motion Carried. The
time of the next meeting is for a business meeting at 1 – o’clock held in the usual Place Hours from
10 am to 8 Pm. Business meeting adjourned.

The ballots were counted and the results were as follows.
For Supervisor three years.
Earl Schulke. 12 Votes
For Clerk.
Everett Rathbun 12 Votes
Earl Schulke was elected Supervisor for three years and Everett Rathbun Clerk for 2 Years.
