A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE SHERBURNE COUNTY
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ORDER A TRAFFIC SIGNAL
WARRANT STUDY AT THE INTERSECTION
OF CSAH 1 (pROCTOR A VENUE) AND SCHOOL STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River has and continues to experience significant growth; and
WHEREAS, much of this growth has been residential in the northwest portion of the City and
commercial development along the TH 169 corridor; and
WHEREAS, this growth has continued to increase traffic volumes in the area of the intersection
of CSAH 1 (proctor A venue) and School Street; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is concerned about the continued safe and efficient operation
of the intersection of CSAH 1 (Proctor A venue) and School Street.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River,
Minnesota:
.. 1. The Sherburne County Board of Commissioners direct the Sherburne County Engineer to
immediately undertake a traffic signal warrant study at the intersection of CSAH 1
(Proctor Avenue) and School Street.
2. If the traffic signal study indicates signalization of the intersection is warranted or will be
warranted in the near future, the County program the installation of a signal system as
soon as possible.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 19th day
of June 1995.
