Action Requested
Approve, by motion, the hiring of Amy Stangler for the position of Accounting Clerk effective October
22, 2019.
Background/Discussion
With the upcoming retirement of Accounting Clerk Mechell Turok, we went to market to fill this
position. We received 192 applications for this position and interviewed eight candidates. Following
second interviews with two candidates and reference and background check, we recommend Amy
Stangler for this position.
Ms. Stangler has a long history of working in accounting positions in local government including 12 years
with the City of Becker and short periods with the City of Big Lake and City of Rogers. She also worked
for two years as an accounting clerk for Wright County Health and Human Services, and most recently
worked in the private sector for a plumbing and heating company. Ms. Stangler holds an Accounting and
Business Management Certification from the St. Cloud Business College.
Ms. Stangler will start at step A of pay grade 3N. All pay and benefits will be consistent with city policy.
Financial Impact
This is a budgeted position.
