Discussion to review consultants for advertising and naming rights of the multipurpose facility
Background/Discussion
During the Elk River Community Center Feasibility Study discussions led by JLG Architects in 2016,
advertising and naming rights for recreation facilities were presented. A presentation was made by John
Staley of Staley Consulting, Grand Forks, ND. Mr. Staley presented various ways his consulting business
could develop a sponsorship program for the proposed multipurpose facility.
As the facility continues to move forward, staff is reviewing various tasks and services to be done this
spring and summer before it opens in the fall 2020. Is the City Council interested in directing staff to
develop a scope of services for potential consultants to assist in naming opportunities?
Staff has contacted Staley Consulting for a free consultation and estimate.
Financial Impact
The cost of a consultant to develop a plan and pursue advertising and naming opportunities for the
multipurpose facility.
