09-03-1940 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING September 3, 1940 rd The regular meeting of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Bldg Monday Sept 3 1940 at 8 o’clock P.M. Members present: M.C. Tesch, Pres; Geo Cornelius, G.A. Bailey, and Frank Nickerson, Trustees; Wm H Greupner, Clerk The minutes of last meeting were read and approved. A motion was made by Geo Cornelius seconded by Frank Nickerson to appoint the following judges and clerks for the Primary election. Day crew – Judges – G.A. Pepin, Daphne Dare and Pauline Kaliher. Clerks Eva Foley and Wm. Greupner. Nigh Crew – Judges Francis Beck, J.C. Anderson, Susan Dare, Clerks – H.J. Pfeiffer and E.E. Chase. If any of the above cannot work on the election board the clerk was instructed to appoint someone in their place. It was decided to have the water mains on Thomas street put in under a W.P.A. project. The clerk to notify Mr. F. Kischel, Area Engineer, to get up a project for this work. A motion was made by G.A. Bailey seconded by Wm Greupner to record the deed for the ten feet of land in back of the Municipal , that was given to the Village by S.R. and L.K. Houlton.
