11-22-1939 VCM Special VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING November 22, 1939 A special meeting of the council was held Wednesday Nov 22, 1939 at 7:30 P.M. Members present: Frank Nickerson, Pres.; G.A. Bailey, Wm Patenaude and Geo Cornelius, Trustees; Wm H Greupner, Clerk The purpose of this meeting was to audit the Financial statement of the Village Clerk and Treas. The report was examined and accepted and signed by Wm Patenaude, Geo Cornelius, and G.A. Bailey. The clerk instructed to have it printed in the next issue of the star news. An application was presented for a building permit by the Farmers Co-op Oil Co. to move a warehouse down from Big Lake and put it in back of their oil station in Elk River. After considerable discussion a motion was made by Wm Greupner seconded by Geo Cornelius to reject this permit because the building would be put in the Fire zone and it would increase the insurance rate too much for that block.
