A RESOLUTION AMENDING THE COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
TO CHANGE THE LAND USE FROM
HR (HIGH DENSITY RESIDENTIAL) TO
MR (MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL)
CITY OF ELK RIVER
CASE NO. LUA 94-2
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statutes, Chapter 462.355, Subdivision 2,
prescribes the procedure for amending the Comprehensive Plan, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission held a public hearing on March 22,
1994, and recommended approval regarding the Comprehensive Plan
e amendment request for the property legally described as:
General description of the property is that portion of Orono Park lying east of
Hudson Street, south of State Highway 10, north or Orono Road, and west of
Gary Street, excluding Lake Orono Estates apartments from HR (High Density
Residential) to MR (Medium Density Residential) based on the following
findings:
1. The land use plan change will provide continuity with the intended use as
park and the existing park area.
2. The City currently has a high percentage of multiple family land use and
is trying to achieve an appropriate mix by increasing low and medium
density residential land uses.
WHEREAS, the City Council has reviewed the Comprehensive Plan
amendment request and finds the change to be in general conformance to the
adopted Comprehensive Plan.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Elk River that the Land Use Plan be amended to change the property as
described above from HR (High Density Residential) to MR (Medium Density
Residential).
PASSED by the City Council of the City of Elk River this 18th day of April,
1994.
