A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION SUPPORTING THE JOINT
CITY OF ELK RIVER/MnDOT CORRIDOR STUDY
OF TRUNK HIGHWAY 10 AND 169 WITHIN THE
CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
WHEREAS, there have been numerous developments adjacent to TH 10/169 within the City of
Elk River which have requested access from the Minnesota Department of
Transportation; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River and the Minnesota Department of Transportation have
concerns about both the movement of traffic on the trunk highway system and
movement of local traffic across the trunk highway system; and
WHEREAS, there are no current planning documents from either agency which clearly spell out
a method to facilitate the location of appropriate access points to accomplish the
goals of both the City of Elk River and MnDOT;
e NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River,
Minnesota:
1. The City of Elk River wholeheartedly supports the proposed joint City of Elk
River/MnDOT Corridor Study for TH 10 and 169 within the corporate boundaries.
2. The City agrees to participate with MnDOT in the study by the contribution of City staff
time to accomplish the report. It is understood that the contribution of each agency will
be approximately 50% of the effort needed to accomplish the outline for the Corridor
Study.
