Approve, by motion, the appointment of members to the Public Art Subcommittee.
Background/Discussion
At their July 15, 2019, meeting, the EDA approved the RFP for a public art installation. The RFP was posted
and delivered to a master list of artists in and around the Central MN Arts District.
At their December 2, 2019, meeting, CM Wagner was nominated to the public art subcommittee. The
following citizens and representatives have expressed interest in participating in the subcommittee:
Dan Tveite, EDA Representative
Michael Niziolek, Parks and Rec Representative
Sharon Tracy, Arts Alliance and Resident at Large
Ann McCormik, EDA Beautification Committee member
The subcommittee will meet once in January to review all proposals. Once an artist is selected through the
process, an application for the Central MN Arts Board (CMAB) grant would be submitted in early 2020.
Financial Impact
The EDA budgeted $5,000 in 2020 as a matching grant for a public art installation at their June 17, 2019,
meeting.
