Background/Discussion Per the Advisory Board and Commission Policy, the Mayor shall make appointments to the Economic Development Authority, Housing and Redevelopment Authority, and Library Board with approval of the Council. There are no terms expiring on the Economic Development Authority. Louise Kuester has decided not to seek reappointment to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority. Mayor Dietz is recommending Jayme Swenson to fill Ms. Kuester's position. The Library Board appointments are on hold pending the outcome of tonight's discussion on board restructuring. The length of term for the Councilmembers coincides with the term of office for Council. The length of term for the citizen - members is six years. Housing and Redevelopment Authority The HRA consists of five Commissioners composed of one City Councilmember and four citizens at large. The term of office is five years. ❑ Library Board The Library Board consists of five members. The term of office is three years. I would like to serve on the Elk River Housing and Redevelopment Authority, as a resident, to have the opportunity to be involved in the discussions and actions that sustain, develop and shape our community. Education/Professional Experience: Describe your educational and professional experience or skills that qualify you to serve on this board/commission. I have acquired insight, knowledge and skills from experience as a business owner, school board member, employee in the multi -family housing industry (two properties in Elk River), church assistant treasurer, youth football association board member and currently employed as a township deputy clerk. Relevant Personal/Professional Experience: Please describe your professional, civic, or community participation, which may be relevant in serving on this board/commission. I believe my insight and input could be relevant to the Housing and Redevelopment Authority because I have participated in a wide variety of professional, personal and civic situations. I have gleaned a multitude of other viewpoints and have been able to teamwork towards desirable outcomes for various interests. I understand that decisions can have an immense impact, with perpetuity, and should have as much feedback and consideration as possible.
