Action Requested
Adopt,by motion a resolution acknowledging the monetary contribution of$2,000 from the Zimmerman
Fire Department Relief Association.
Background/Discussion
The Zimmerman Fire Department Relief Association has requested their donation be shared by the Parks
and Recreation Department and the Fire Department. $1,000 will be used for program scholarships and
$1,000 will be used by the Fire Department for safety equipment.
Pursuant to Minnesota Statute 465.03,resolutions acknowledging contributions must be adopted by a
four-fifths vote.

adoption:

Resolution 20-
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Acknowledging
Contributions
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a $2,000 donation from Zimmerman Fire
Department Relief Association with the intent$1,000 be used by Parks and Recreation
Department for Scholarships and$1,000 be used by the Fire Department for safety
equipment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council,by at least four-fifths
vote, to acknowledge the support and commend$2,000 for their donation.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember
, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof-
