Adopt,by motion, a resolution acknowledging the grant award of$5,000 from the Walmart Community
Grants Team and local Walmart facility# 3209
Background/Discussion
The Elk River Fire Department applied and was awarded a grant from Walmart Giving to purchase a
firefighter turnout gear dryer for station 2. This piece of equipment is vital for protecting our firefighters
from the continuous exposure to cancer-causing chemicals produced at fires.

adoption:

Resolution 20-
A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Elk River Acknowledging
Contributions
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River is grateful to all civic groups, organizations, and
individuals for their contributions to the community; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River received a$5,000 grant donation from Walmart
Community Grants with the intent it be used by the Fire Department for purchase of a
firefighter turnout gear dryer.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council,by at least four-fifths
vote, to acknowledge the support and commend Walmart for their donation.
The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember
, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof-
