Background/Discussion
City Council requested the disposition of the Activity Center as a work session item. Based on the current
construction schedule,we expect to be in the new senior center before the end of the year 2020.
Some items for Council to consider and provide feedback are as follows:
- Market the property for sale.
- Consider the type of use for the property.
- Consider a zone change.
- Consider land swap with ISD 728 for additional parking space at the multipurpose facility.
- Consider another government use/rehabilitation.
- The county assessor has it valued at$1.5 million,however it is tax-exempt.
- Direction regarding a property appraisal.
The purpose of this discussion is to begin a conversation,which is expected to be continued with clear
direction in the future.
