This report is a monthly highlight of department activities related to recent collaborations, strategic
planning, staff changes/developments, and park operations.
2020 Riverfront Concert Series
The lineup for the 2020 Riverfront Concert Series is now available on the city’s website. The
concerts will be Thursday through the summer (except for July 2) with the following bands:
June 11 Outside Recess
June 18 Country Roads (John Denver Tribute)
June 25 Church of Cash
July 9 Maiden Dixie
July 16 Buddy Holly and the Winter Dance Party
July 23 50’s & 60’s Revue
July 30 Billy Joel State of Mind
August 6 A Hard Day’s Night
August 13 Junk FM
August 20 Fabulous Armadillos
Multipurpose Facility Proposed Rental Fees
Proposed rental fees for the banquet meeting rooms and field house were presented to City Council
at a work session on December 2. The fees were presented to the youth sports organizations at a
special meeting of the Elk River Youth Athletic Association on December 18. They will be brought
back to City Council for discussion for a future work session.
Naming Rights RFP
The city is seeking consulting services to provide the service and guidance necessary to acquire a
naming rights agreement for the new multipurpose facility. Three proposals were submitted by the
deadline date January 3, 2020. They will be reviewed by staff and brought forward to City Council
for discussion and final approval.

Part-time Activity Center Receptionist Pat Johnson Resignation
Pat has been with us for five years as staff support for the service desk, trip escort, and special
events. We are currently looking into the best method to cover her responsibilities with our future
transition in mind.
2020 Elk River Area Community Guide
Hot off the presses – the 2020 Elk River Area Community Guide is a must read! Each year, Prime
Advertising & Design collaborates with the City of Elk River and the Elk River Chamber of
Commerce to create this guide, which serves as a roadmap to the many components that make this
city the vibrant and flourishing community we know and love. Explore local businesses, mark your
calendars for exciting events and programs, find out what’s in store for city recreational facilities and
enhancements to several major parks as part of the Active Elk River plan. Of course, the emphasis is
on parks and recreation programs and facilities.
