RESOLUTION 94-93
A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF A GRANT
APPLICATION FOR THE SAFE AND SOBER
NATIONAL TRAFFIC SAFETY CAMPAIGN
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River Police Department; Sherburne County
Sheriffs Office, Big Lake Police Department and the Becker
Police Department have jointly made application to the
Minnesota Department of Public Safety to receive and
expend "Safe and Sober" grant funds.
WHEREAS, "Safe and Sober" is a national traffic safety campaign
designed by the NHTSA and endorsed by the International
Association of Chiefs of Police and the National Sheriffs
Association; and

WHEREAS, the "Safe & Sober" program seeks to unite national, state,
and local efforts to reduce alcohol-related crashes and
increase safety belt and child safety seat use with quarterly
programs; and
WHEREAS, the Elk River Police Department, in conjunction with the
Sherburne County Sheriffs Department, Big Lake Police
Department, and the Becker Police Department, have made
a commitment to see that the Safe and Sober program is
successful.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Elk River City Council
supports the efforts of the local law enforcement agencies in
their efforts to apply for grant funds which will assist in the
implementation of the "Safe and Sober" program.
Passed and adopted by the Elk River City Council this 12th day of
September, 1994.
