A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING EXECUTION
OF GRANT AGREEMENT FOR THE SAFE AND SOBER
NATIONAL TRAFFIC SAFETY CAMPAIGN
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River Police Department; Sherburne County
Sheriffs Office, Big Lake Police Department and the Becker
Police Department have jointly made application to the
Minnesota Department of Public Safety to receive and
expend "Safe and Sober" grant funds in an effort to unite
national, state, and local efforts to reduce alcohol-related
crashes and increase safety belt and child safety seat use
with quarterly programs; and
WHEREAS, the City of Elk River Police Department, Sherburne County
Sheriff's Office, Big Lake Police Department and the Becker
Police Department have been selected as a participant in the
1995 Safe and Sober Campaign and have been awarded
funding in the amount of $20,000 for the implementation of
e the proposed Safe and Sober Program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Elk River enter
into a grant agreement with the Office of Traffic Safety in
the Minnesota Department of Public Safety for the program
entitled Safe & Sober Communities.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Thomas D. Zerwas is hereby
authorized to execute and sign such grant agreement and
amendments as are necessary to implement the project on
behalf of the City of Elk River.
I certify that the above resolution was adopted by the City Council of the City
of Elk River this 3rd day of October, 1994.
