Background/Discussion Staff went to market to fill the position vacated by Park Maintenance Worker Shane Fisher. We received 101 applications and interviewed six candidates. Following background check and pre -employment testing, we recommend Jared DeBoer for this position. Mr. DeBoer is currently a seasonal laborer in our parks division. He worked as a seasonal laborer last winter as well. When he's not working for us, Mr. DeBoer has run his own shoreline restoration and landscape business since May of 2014. He has also worked as a laborer, foreman, and production manager at Septic Check in Milaca and prior to that, co -owned a landscaping business. He holds a BA in Management from St. John's University, a Class A Commercial Driver's License, a Commercial Pesticide Applicator certification, and is a certified Site Manager/Installer for Storm Water and Erosion Control. This position is part of the IUOE Local 49 and all pay and benefits are consistent with union contract and city policy. Financial Impact This is a budgeted position.
