6.1b ERMUSR 2-11-2020UTILITIES COMMISSION MEETING
TO: FROM:
ERMU Commission Theresa Slominski Administrations Director
MEETING DATE: AGENDA ITEM NUMBER:
February 11, 2020 6.1b
SUBJECT:
Staff Update
ACTION REQUESTED:
None
DISCUSSION:
The Employee Handbook that was presented last commission meeting did not have the Fire
Department Participation policy information that was passed in May 2019. The error was
discovered and, given that it had already been approved by the commission, was inserted into
the Handbook prior to distribution to employees. I apologize for the oversight last month.
Bond payments were remitted February 3, 2020 for the 2016A, 2016B, and 2018A
Electric Bonds, and the 2008A Water Bond, totaling $1,260,570.63.
The auditors from Abdo, Eick, and Meyers will be here Thursday and Friday, February 27 and 28,
2020 for our annual audit.
Accounting staff attended a Sales and Use Tax workshop put on by the State of Minnesota. It
was a great opportunity to network with the state staff and establish contacts for future
questions.
NISC was here January 21-23, 2020 to provide user training for Mobile Workforce and AppSuite.
ERMU office staff members worked with NISC to train all the field staff on completing service
order workflows in an NISC test data environment.
NISC was back for the live date implementation February 4-6, 2020. This has been a very
involved process and has taken lots of time and energy to prepare for. This implementation
week was more challenging than prior implementations because you cant test the real
environment until you go live. So, the week was spent identifying the bugs and making
corrections rather than being able to just work in the new environment.
We have outgrown the current software we utilize to send notices and track the testing of
backflow preventer devices throughout the city. We have been exploring other software options
and evaluating what will best meet our needs.
