Recognize the promotion of Detective Eric Balabon to the position of Juvenile Detective Sergeant effective March 2, 2020. 2. Mayor Dietz to administer the oath of office to Detective Eric Balabon. Background/Discussion Detective Balabon has been with the department since 1996 where he started out as a patrol officer. Assigned as a School Resource Officer in 2005 he has become a fixture in the schools and has developed a fantastic relationship with school administrators and staff alike. Eric will be supervising two SROs as well as the department's Drug Task Force officer. Financial Impact This position is currently budgeted, and he will start at $44.94 per hour, based on the Sergeant Labor Agreement.
