Appoint, by motion, two Council Members to serve on the Naming Rights Committee
Background/Discussion
During discussions with Front Burner, it was discussed that a Naming Rights Committee be formed to assist
in developing an initial list of potential naming rights partners. The Committee would also assist with the
development of solicitation materials and provide feedback. The Contractor will meet with the Committee
every four to six weeks by phone or in person to provide progress updates during the length of the
professional services agreement.
A kickoff meeting with the Committee should be scheduled in early March to discuss project background,
roles and responsibilities and define project goals. Recommended staff on the Naming Rights Committee
are Cal Portner and Michael Hecker.
It is expected the consultant will also conduct individual interviews with Council Members, city staff, Parks
and Recreation Commissioners, Active Elk River Committee members and third -party vendors.
