Discuss and select tentative dates for the annual Council/Staff Retreat.
Background/Discussion
Last year, the Council met from noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 23.
The Council and leadership staff have met annually each of the past three years to set and discuss long -
and short-term goals; identify priorities; and establish values, vision, and mission statements. The
discussions have been helpful in establishing annual budgets, long-term budget planning and improving
communication between elected and appointed officials.
The council should select available date(s) and time(s) for the 2020 retreat to ensure full participation. It
would also be a good time to identify topics they would like to discuss or information they would like to
have available in presentation or documentation form.
Past retreats have been facilitated by the city administrator. There may be value in bringing in an outside
facilitator to help plan and drive discussion.
