RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE 1992-1993 MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT
FOR COUNTY STATE AID HIGHWAY #42 BRIDGE
BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Elk River,
that the maintenance agreement between the City of Elk
River and wright County for 1992-1993, which is hereto
attached and made part of this resolution, is hereby
approved.
Passed and adopted by the Elk Rive~ City Council this 27th day

MAINTENANCE AGREEMENT (1992-1993)
TillS AGREEMENT made and entered into by and between the City of
hereinafter referred to as the "City" and the County of Wright
to as the "County".

WlIEREAS, it is deemed to the bes t interes t of all parties tha t the duties and
responsiblities of both the City and the County as to maintenance on Bridge 6865i5 and Its
approaches should be clearly defined,
NOW TlIEREFORE, IT IS AGREED with regard to saId structure maintenance:
MAINTENANCE
CITY RESPONSIBLE FOR:
(I) Maintenance of street lIghts
(2) Removal of snow from sIdewalk
(3) Maintenance of slopes/berms and roadway on north
approach (includes: turf maintenance, bituminous
maintenance, drainage and riprap maintenance)
(4) Periodic sweeping to remove sand and debris and
removIng sand/dirt from expansion joints.
(5) Removal of markings/spray paint etc. from visible
surfaces of bridge structure
COUNTY RESPONSIBLE FOR:
(I) Snow and ice control for bridge and approaches
(2) SignIng for bridge and approaches
(3) Maintenance of slopes/berms and roadway on south
approach (includes: turf maintenance, bituminous
maInteoance, drainage and riprap maintenance)
(4) CenterlIne and edge pavement marking (includes stop
bar).
The agreement between the City and County shall be for a two year period and run from
January I, i992 to Oecember 31, 1993. All maintenance responsibilities will be deemed
"offsetting" therefore no payments will be required for the individual maintenance work
which conforms to the areas stated herein and performed under authorization of either the
Ci ty or County.
In the event that the structure needs major maintenance/rehabilitation an agreement
detailing the work and shared costs must be approved and accepted by the City and County.
