RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING SHERBURNE COUNTY TO REQUEST
THE COMMISSIONER OF TRANSPORTATION TO STUDY CERTAIN
ROADS IN THE CITY OF ELK RIVER FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ESTABLISHING SPEED ZONES
WHEREAS, the Elk River City Council has determined that County
Road 30 in the City of Elk River residential area has
a designated speed zone that is of concern to the
Council and residents; and,
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute requires that the Local Unit of
Government request the Commissioner of Transportation
to investigate appropriate speed zones in the areas of
question within the City of Elk River; and,
WHEREAS, it is the City's request to have Sherburne County
request to the Commissioner of Transportation to
investigate and eventually establish speed zones and
that this request by the County be done by resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Elk River that Sherburne County is requested to
request the Commissioner of Transportation to
investigate County Road 30 from Main Street to the
western City limit for the purpose of establishing the
appropriate speed zones.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River
this 3rd day of February, 1992.
