I. Call Meeting to Order
Pursuant to due call and notice thereof,the meeting of the Elk River Economic
Development Authority Public Art Sub-Committee was called to order at 5:00 p.m.
by Dan Tveite.
2. Consider Agenda
Moved by Michael Niziolek and seconded by Ann McCormick to approve the
agenda. Motion carried 4-0.
3. Consent Agenda
3.1 February 6, 2020, Meeting Minutes
Moved by Michael Niziolek and seconded by Ann McCormick to approve the
consent agenda. Motion carried 4-0.
4. General Business
4.1 Public Art Proposals
Ms. Othoudt presented the staff report.
Matthew Coppersmith,of Coppersmith Customs presented his revised art piece.
Scale is 2" = 1'with the final art being 10'— 12'.
Members discussed their concerns with the project;the low piece representing the
river should be shorten so nobody hits their head,what engineering is needed as
there is an underground garage under the proposed area,thickness of the steel strong
enough as it will rust through time,the size of the base is proposed to be 2'x 36"
and will be bolted to the ground.
After discussion the committee felt that they needed more information and
engineered drawings addressing their concerns before they could recommend
approval to the EDA.
