VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
May 19, 1941
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on May 19, 1941 at 8:00 P.M.
Members present:
M.C. Tesch, Pres; Frank Nickerson, E.L. Shadick, and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J.
Clinton Walker, Clerk
The following relief clients were taken care of:

Bert Sweeney allowed $10.00 rent from May 17 to June 17
Carl Marohn allowed an $8.00 food stamp book
Chester Waite allowed a $12.00 food stamp book with the understanding that he report to Mr.
Zimmer for work on days when he is not working elsewhere.
L.J. Bethke allowed a $10.00 food stamp book.
It was decided to hire a clerk for the liquor store. The clerk to work 125 hours a month at a salary of
$50.00 a month.
It was decided to pay the Town Board Leader through the school in the same manner as last year
the amount being $350.00 for the season.
A motion was made by E.L. Shadick to grant Milk licenses to Guy LaPlant and Shorty Christian.
Motion was seconded by Frank Nickerson and carried.
