08-04-1941 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING August 4, 1941 A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on August 4, 1941 at 8:00 P.M. Members present: M.C. Tesch, Pres; Frank Nickerson, E.L. Shadick, and G.A. Bailey, Trustees; J. Clinton Walker, Clerk The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. Mr. L.G. Nelson representing the Sherburne County Fair Association asked for an appropriation to help with the expenses of the Sherburne County Fair. A motion was made by Frank Nickerson and seconded by G.A. Bailey granting the Sherburne County Fair Association $150.00. Mayor Tesch appointed E.L. Shadick, Frank Nickerson and M.C. Tesch a committee to find locations for the Liquor Store Road signs. Mrs. N.M. Hamlett applied for a Building Permit to alter their building on Princeton Street installing a new front on the east and a window on the north side of the building. A motion was made by E.L. Shadick and seconded by Frank Nickerson granting this permit. C.F. Robbins applied for a permit to build a garage 20 ft by 22 ft on his lot 3 block 2 Thomas addition. A motion was made by G.A. Bailey seconded by Clinton Walker granting this permit. Robert Cornelius applied for the position of school patrol for the school year of 1941 and 1942. A motion was made by G.A. Bailey and seconded by E.L. Shadick hiring Robert Cornelius for this position. A motion was made by Frank Nickerson and seconded by G.A. Bailey to pay $40.00 in dues to the League of Minnesota Municipalities. A motion was made by Frank Nickerson and seconded by G.A. Bailey authorizing the Village Council to act as a co-sponsor for the Statewide W.P.A. Recreation Project. A motion was made by E.L. Shadick and seconded by G.A.
