RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING SHERBURNE COUNTY TO REQUEST
THE COMMISSIONER OF TRANSPORTATION TO STUDY COUNTY ROAD 1
IN THE CITY OF ELK RIVER FOR THE PURPOSE OF
ESTABLISHING A SPEED ZONE
WHEREAS, the Elk River City Council has determined that County
Road 1 in the City of Elk River has a designated speed
zone that is of concern to the Council and residents
because of the newly constructed Meadowvale Elementary
School located on County Road 1; and,
WHEREAS, Minnesota Statute requires that the Local Unit of
Government request the Commissioner of Transportation
to investigate an appropriate speed zone in the area
of question within the City of Elk River; and,

WHEREAS, it is the City's request to have Sherburne County
request to the Commissioner of Transportation to
investigate and eventually establish an appropriate
speed zone and that this request by the County be done
by resolution.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City
of Elk River that Sherburne County is requested to
request the Commissioner of Transportation to
investigate County Road 1 from Highway 10 to Sherburne
County Road 32 for the purpose of establishing the
appropriate speed zone.
Passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Elk River
this 31st day of August, 1992.
