03-11-1935 VCM Special VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING March 11, 1935 A special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Bldg. Monday, March 11, 1935 at 8 o’clock P.M. Present: D.E. Davis, Pres.; Geo. Cornelius and Wm. Patenaude, Trustees; Wm. H. Greupner, Clerk. The purpose of this meeting was to meet with the Library Board and take up the matter of the Librarian. The \[sic\] Mrs. Latta, Longfellow and Bailey representing the Library board came before the Council stating that they could not get Gladys Hulbert to cooperate with them in any way and they wanted to know if they could discharge her and hire a new girl. Miss Hulbert was called in and conditions explained to her but she was very indifferent. After a thorough discussion between the board and the Council a motion was made by Wm. Greupner second\[ed\] by Geo. Cornelius and st carried to let the Library board discharge Miss Hulbert immediately but pay her up to April 1. The Board were given permission to hire anyone they thought capable to fill the vacancy A statement to the First Nat’l Bk for the Compensation Ins was read and ordered payed. \[sic\] The amount \[was\] 100.88 No further business meeting adjourned.
