08-05-1936 VCM VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING August 5, 1936 The regular meeting of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Bldg Monday Aug 5, 1936 at 8:00 o’clock P.M. Members present: J.D. Flaherty, Pres.; G.A. Bailey, Geo Cornelius, Wm Patenaude, Trustees; Wm H Greupner, Clerk. The minutes of last meeting were read and approved. A representative of the Pittsburgh Meter co came before the Council stating that his company would sell water meters at $10.50 a piece providing the council would contract for at least 5 dozen meters to be shipped as needed. A motion was made by G.A. Bailey seconded by Geo Cornelius to contract for 5 dozen meters. One dozen to be shipped at once and the other four dozen to be shipped as needed. Motion carried. The matter was brought up about Circus’s and shows coming into Elk River for a day or more. The opinion of the Council was that $10.00 a day would be a fair license fee to charge. A motion was made by Wm Patenaude seconded by G.A. Bailey to charge all circus and shows a license fee of $10.00 a day. Motion carried. The clerk was instructed to have Bill Roggatz fix the gasoline engine at the Pump House, so it will be in good condition. A motion was made by G.A. Bailey seconded by Geo Cornelius to allow the following bills and order them payed. N.W. Bell Tele Co – tele rent 2.50 E.R. Power and Light Co – light and power 354.95 Chas M.
