VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
February 1, 1937
The regular meeting of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Bldg Monday Feb 1, 1937 at 8
o’clock.
Members present:
J.D. Flaherty, Pres.; G.A. Bailey, Geo Cornelius, Wm Patenaude, Trustees;
Wm H Greupner, Clerk.
The minutes of the last regular meeting were read and approved.
Ed Belanger came before the council and stated that the village was out of 1 in meters and needed
one to put in the First Natl Bk Bldg. A motion was made by G.A. Bailey seconded by Geo Cornelius
to buy a one inch meter from the Pittsburgh Meter Co.
The matter of slot machines was brough up and it was found that there were two machines
operating at A.L. Parkers lunch room. The clerk was instructed to have Chas Nelson, Marshall, see
Mr. Parkers and have these machines removed at once.
The question was brought up, should the Village of Elk River charge the Village of Albertville for
the fire run that was made in January. After some discussion it was decided not to charge a
neighboring town like Albertville for this run. The Clerk was instructed to write the Albertville
Council and tell them the action of our council.
A motion was made by Geo Cornelius, seconded by Wm Patenaude to allow the following bills
