VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
August 8, 1937
The special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Bldg Monday Aug 8, 1937 at 8
o’clock P.M.
Members present:
J.D. Flaherty, Pres.; G.A. Bailey, Geo Cornelius, Wm Patenaude, Trustees;
Wm H Greupner, Clerk.
The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the building permit of Mr. O.W. Farrell for any Oil
Station to be built on the property between Steins Warehouse and the Depot. After a lengthy
discussion a motion was made by Wm Greupner seconded by G.A. Bailey that a building permit be
denied Mr. Farrell on the grounds that he did not present a written application and had no
specifications which he must have according to the Fire Ordinance No. 16. This motion was carried.
A motion was made by Geo Cornelius seconded by Wm Greupner to grant the following applicants
permits to build homes in the Village – Keo Denars, Oscar Swanson, Frank Belanger. Motion
carried.
No further business meeting adjourned.
