VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
September 27, 1937
The special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Municipal Bldg Mon Sep 27, 1937 at 8
o’clock P.M.
Members present:
J.D. Flaherty, Pres.; G.A. Bailey, Geo Cornelius, Wm Patenaude, Trustees;
Wm H Greupner, Clerk.
The purpose of this meeting was to meet with Mr. O.W. Farrell and his representatives in regards to
a permit for an Oil Station. These men were not present so no action could be taken on this matter
at the present time.
Mr. J.E.P. Darrell representing the Minn Highway Dept was present and looked over the proposal
plans of the above mentioned Oil Station and stated that there would not be room to put a building
the size they intend to on this piece of land between Steins warehouse and the Depot.
Mr. Leslie Laugley was present at this meeting and asked the Council to recommend hospitalization
and direct relief for himself after a lengthy discussion it was decided that Mr. Laugley could get along
without this help and therefore a motion was made by G.A. Bailey seconded by Geo Cornelius to
deny Mr. Laugley direct relief and hospitalization upon roll call motion was carried

No further business meeting adjourned.
