VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
January 20, 1938
The special meeting of the Village Council was held at the Court House Monday Jan 20, 1938 at 8
o’clock P.M.
The purpose of this meeting was to meet the welfare board in regards to the relief problem. After
meeting with the members of the welfare board the following resolution was passed.
Be it resolved by the Village Council of the Village of Elk River, that whereas relief funds and poor
funds of said Village have heretofor been administered by the Sherburne County Welfare Board and
payments made with the consent of the approval of the Village Council.
Now therefore, it is hereby determined that from and after this date, the poor funds for relief
purposes be paid directly to the Sherburne Co. Welfare Board and be administered by said board
without the consent of said Village Council in each instant case but that said Village Council act in
an advisory capacity when requested to do so by the Sherburne County Welfare Board.
Be it further resolved that this resolution be in force and in effect until changed by such further
amendatory or different resolution as may be hereinafter adopted.
