12-08-1960 VCM Special VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING December 8, 1960 A special meeting was held at Village Hall on December 8, 1960. The purpose of the meeting was to decide on the question of an agent of record for village insurance. Members present: Henry Johnson, Mayor; R.G. Kemper, G.A. Bergerson, August Meyer, Trustees; H.A. Briggs, Clerk Trustee Bergerson offered the following resolution and moved its adoption. It was seconded by Briggs. Resolved that the Bank of Elk River be designated agent of Record for the purpose of providing and maintaining insurance for all village purposes and shall include but not be limited to Fire, Comprehensive Coverage, Public Liability, Workmen’s Compensation and specifically excluding the machinery under control and custody of the Elk River Power and Light Commission in the generating plant operated by said commission. Said agent shall be charged with the responsibility of examinating insurance coverage of all property under control and supervision of said commission and reporting to this council areas of no insurance coverage or areas of duplicate coverage. Further that any premium paid upon policies provided by said agent shall be paid to said agent; it shall be recommended but no required of said agent that the commissions on said premiums shall be divided among the several agents doing business in Elk River as follows: First Nat’l Bank 26% Bank of Elk River 26% G.A. Johnson 16% H.L. Johnson 16% Odegard Realty 16% Meeting adjourned. H.A. Briggs Village Clerk P.S. August Meyer presided at the meeting. Mayor Johnson not voting.
