SUBJECT: Authorization to Purchase Vehicle for Liquor Operations
The start-up budget for Westbound Liquor includes the purchase of a cargo van to transport
merchandise between Northbound and Westbound. Northbound has a larger warehouse area than
Westbound so some of Westbound's inventory will be stored at Northbound and transported to
Westbound as needed.
Dave Potvin, Liquor Store Manager, received quotes for a van from Saxon Motors of Elk River, Elk
River Ford, and Thane Hawkins Chevrolet who holds the State bid. Bids results are as follows:

$13,783.50

$20,486.00
These prices do not include tax, license fee, or minor interior accessories necessary to contain the
cargo.
Action Requested
Staff requests authorization to purchase a Chevrolet Express G23405 cargo van from Thane
Hawkins Chevrolet under the State contract for $13,783.50 plus cargo accessories, tax, and license
fee.
