DISCUSSION:
Delivered five new water meters.
Sealed the water meter, installed an encoder receiver transmitter, and took curb stop
ties from three water services.
Completed 15 BACTI/Total Chlorine Residual Samples
o All confirmed negative for Coliform Bacteria
o Bacteriological/Disinfectant Residual Monthly Report submitted to the MDH
Completed 22 routine fluoride samples
o All samples met MDH standards.
o Submitted MDH Fluoride Report
Submitted Discharge Monitoring Report (DMR) for the Water Treatment Plantsto the
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA).
SubmittedDMR for the Diesel Generation Plant to the MPCA.
Work has continued on the Auburn Street Water Tower restoration project. Painting on
the interior of the tower is complete, and the containment curtain has been removed.
Once the city logo has been painted, the remainder of the finish coat of paint on the
exterior can be applied. Disinfection of the tank and filling with water will follow shortly.
Sprintsent notice that they intend to terminatetheir leases for Auburn Street, Gary
Street, and Johnson Street Water Towers. They will be removing their equipment from
each site. The current annual payment from Sprint for all three towers is $130,504.82.
Water department staff have been working with city staff and contractors on replacing a
portion of the water service to the new multipurpose facility.
Freeport Water Tower has been refilled with water, passed water sample tests, and put
back in service for the season.
We flushed fire hydrants May 4-8. Customers were notified, and a map with the zones
and the dates of flushing was added to our website.
