RE: 2005 SEAL COAT IMPROVEMENTS
BID RESULTS
Dear Council Members:
We have tabulated the bids received on Tuesday, July 12,2005 for the 2005 Seal Coat
Improvement. There were a total of two bidders. The bid documents requested a base bid
plus an add-on for an alternate type of oil containing polymers. The following table
provides the bidder's name and total bid:

Allied Blacktop Company has successfully completed seal coating for the City of Elk River
in the past. Therefore, we recommend award to them as the lowest responsible bidder for
the base plus alternate bid in a total amount of $72,197.66. Attached is a resolution for the
Council's consideration which awards the 2005 Seal Coat Improvement to Allied Blacktop
Company.

RESOLUTION 05-
A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING BID AND AUTHORIZING
EXECUTION OF CONTRACT IN THE MATTER OF THE
SEAL COATING IMPROVEMENT OF 2005
WHEREAS pursuant to City Council direction, competitive bids were solicited and received for the 2005
Seal Coating Improvement; and
WHEREAS the City Council has considered the amount of the bids and the responsibility of the bidders
and determined that Allied Blacktop Co. is the lowest responsible bidder;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Elk River, Minnesota:
1. The Mayor and City Administrator are authorized and directed to execute, on behalf of the City, such
contract with Allied Blacktop Co., as is approved by the City Attorney, for the completion of the
2005 Seal Coating Improvement according to the approved plans and specifications designed by City
Council Resolution.
2. The City Administrator is authorized and directed to forthwith return to all bidders the deposits
made with their bids upon execution of the contract specified above.
