VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
July 7, 1947
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Bldg on July 7, 1947.
Members present:
Mayor Glenn Davidson, Walter L Johnson, R.A. Ellingson
R.A. Ellingson acted as clerk in the absence of H.A. Briggs.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Davidson. The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
Mr. Joe Bachman asked for an electric line to his gravel pit southeast of Zimmerman. This was
referred to the water, Light, Power and Building Commission to be created.
L.L. Bishop and Frank Dreissig appeared and complained about damage to meters on account of
low voltage on the lines. This matter was referred to the Commission.
Mrs. Alden Taylor was present at the meeting and asked for help in regard to her sister, Grace
Keniston. She stated that her sister who is fifty eight years old, is without funds and that she would
like to get her admitted to the G.A.R. Home in Anoka which would cost $33.00 a month. She
further stated that her sister is not eligible for old age pension. Action on this case was postponed
until a later date.
