VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
October 27, 1947
A special meeting was held at Mayor Davison’s office on Oct 27, 1947.
Members present:
Glenn Davidson, Mayor: Elmer Leger, Walter L Johnson, R.A. Ellingson, Trustees;
H.A. Briggs, Clerk
The following tax levy was made for 1948:
General Fund 6000.00
Road and Bridge 2800.00
Library 750.00
Poor Fund 600.00
Band 2 mills
There was a discussion regarding sewer assessments against tax exempt property such as Sherburne
County, village schools and churches situated in the village. Upon motion by Ellingson and a second
by Leger the Council agreed to forgive sewer tax against Sherburne County, the school and several
churches in the village and the clerk was instructed to write all parties concerned. All members voted
in favor of the motion.
