VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
November 3, 1947
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Nov 3, 1947.
Members present:
Elmer Leger, Walter L Johnson, R.A. Ellingson, Trustees; H.A. Briggs, Clerk
The meeting was called to order by Elmer Leger in the absence of Mayor Davidson. The minutes of
the last meetings were read and approved.
Fritz Carlson was present and asked for a raise in pay from $1.25 an hour to $1.50 an hour for work
on the sewer. He was told that this would be taken up by the Council when all members are present.
Les Derr reported on the progress of the sewer construction to date.
V.B. Skellenger discussed the progress of the Light and Power Department. He inquired about a
$6000.00 loan that the Sewer Construction Fund owes the Utilities.
A motion was made by Leger and seconded by Briggs to transfer $3000.00 from the Liquor Fund to
the Sewer Construction Fund and also to pay the Utilities the $6000.00. Carried.
