VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
July 6, 1948
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on July 6, 1948.
Members present:
Oscar Odegard, Mayor; Elmer Leger, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ellingson, Trustees; H.A.
Briggs, Clerk
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Odegard. The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
Earl Kress asked about the sewer tax on his lots. The Council agreed to have Wm Frantz investigate
the matter of the tax.
Charles Nelson reported that the furnace at the Village Hall needs repair or rebuilding. It was agreed
to have Albert Middlestadt take the furnace down and see if it will pay to have it repaired.
A motion was made by Ellingson and seconded by Briggs to authorize the following transfer of
funds:
June 11, 1948 $1500.00 from the Liquor Fund to the Sewer Construction Fund
June 18, 1948 $1212.51 from the Sewer Assessment Fund to the Sewer Construction Fund
June 25, 1948 $1500.00 from the Liquor Fund to the Sewer Const Fund
June 30, 1948 $1800.00 from the Liquor Fund to the Sewer Const Fund
The motion carried.
The following Building Permits were approved:

Mrs. Leslie Rowe
All members voted in favor.
A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Ellingson to begin payments to Mrs. Alden Taylor
of $25.00 per month for care of Miss Kenniston beginning with the June payment. Carried.
