VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
September 7, 1948
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Sept 7, 1948.
Members present:
Elmer Leger, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ellingson, Trustees; H.A. Briggs, Clerk
The meeting was called to order by acting mayor, Elmer Leger, in the absence of Mayor Odegard.
The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved.
Gust Johnson inquired about getting some of the village insurance business. A motion was made by
Bailey and seconded by Briggs to give Johnson the insurance on the Municipal building beginning
Nov. 10, 1948 and have him bring in to the next council meeting an estimate of replacement of the
property. The motion carried. The balance of the insurance business is to be taken up at the next
meeting.
Mr. E.R. Martin of E.R. Martin and Co accounts met with the Council regarding taking over some
of the village accounting business. He agreed to be present at the next regular meeting.
A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Ellingson to authorize the following transfers of
funds from the Liquor Fund to the Sewer Construction Fund:
Aug 12 - $2000.00
Aug 20 800.00
Aug 27 1000.00
Sept 3 1000.00
$4800.00
The motion carried.
