VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
October 4, 1948
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Oct 4, 1948.
Members present:
Oscar Odegard, Mayor; Elmer Leger, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ellingson, Trustees; H.A.
Briggs, Clerk
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Odegard. The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
A motion was made by Leger and seconded by Bailey for an audit of village books for 1948 and to
maintain the records of Municipal Liquor Store for six months of 1949 by Mr. E.R. Martin, fees for
the audit not to exceed $150.00 and monthly fees not to exceed $60.00. The motion carried.
A motion was made Leger and seconded by Briggs to approve transfer of funds from Liquor Fund
to Sewer Construction Fund:

Sept 16, 1948 700.00
Sept 24, 1948 300.00

Carried.
Motion by Leger and seconded by Ellingson to approve application for building permit for Twin
City Milk Producers Assn. The motion carried all members voting in favor.
Upon motion by Ellingson and a second by Leger the following levy was approved for 1949:
General Fund $10,000.00
Road and Bridge 3000.00
Library Fund 1000.00
Poor Fund 600.00
Band 2 mills
All members voted aye.
G.A. Johnson was present and the matter of insurance on the Municipal Building was brough up.
Upon motion by Leger and second by Bailey the Council decided to take out $20,000.00 co-
insurance on the building with Mr. Johnson. All voted in favor.
