VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
November 1, 1948
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Nov 1, 1948.
Members present:
Oscar Odegard, Mayor; Elmer Leger, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ellingson, Trustees; H.A.
Briggs, Clerk
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Odegard. The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
The clerk reported that he had been served with a summons and complaint brought by Barbarossa
and Son of St Cloud, Minn for an alleged amount due them on a sewer contract. The matter was
discussed with the Village Attorney, Howard Wakefield and the Council authorized him to prepare
an answer to the complaint.
An on and off beer license application by Herman Sachs was unanimously approved by the Council.
A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Briggs to authorize the following transfers of funds
from the Liquor Fund to the Sewer Construction Fund:
Oct 6 $800.00 Motion carried.
The Clerk was instructed to write the Highway Department for an estimate of the cost of an island
and signal at the intersection of Highways 10 and 169.
