VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
May 26, 1949
A special meeting was held at the Municipal Building on May 26, 1949.
Members present:
Oscar Odegard, Mayor; Emil Parent, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ellingson, Trustees; H.A.
Briggs
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Odegard.
Councilman Parent presented the following resolution and moved its adoption:
Resolution
Resolved by the Village Council of the Village of Elk River, Minnesota, that said Village lease for a
period of ten years from the date said village moves in the south portion of a new building located
on the West 30 feet of Lot 4, Block 3, Village of Elk River for a Municipal Liquor Store, together
with the basement thereunder.
Provided that said ten year period shall only be effective if and only if said village is permitted by law
to remain in the business of operating a Municipal Liquor Store for that period.
Said building and basement to be leased for said period at a rental not to exceed $100.00 per month.
The above resolution was seconded by Councilman R.A. Ellingson.
The resolution was put to a vote, the members voting as follows:
Ellingson – aye, Briggs – aye, Parent – aye, Bailey – no.
The resolution was declared passed.
