VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
September 6, 1949
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Sept 6, 1949.
Members present:
Oscar Odegard, Mayor; Emil Parent, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ellingson, Trustees; H.A.
Briggs
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Odegard. The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
Andrew Madison asked about buying the concrete blocks of one of the dugouts at the old ball park.
The clerk agreed to find out whether the blocks belong to the ball team or the village.
The matter of sidewalk repairs was discussed. The Council ruled that sidewalk repairs shall be paid
by the property owner unless the damage was caused by the village in putting in sewer or the other
village work.
Application for renewal of on and off beer license by Rudy Schermer was approved and the clerk
was instructed to issue the renewal.

The Clerk was asked to write the State Highway regarding the traffic signals at the intersection of
Highways 169 and 10.
