VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
December 4, 1950
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on Dec 4, 1950.
Members present:
R. A. Ellingson, Mayor; Emil Parent, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ryding, Trustees; H.A. Briggs
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ellingson. The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
The Clerk showed a letter from Mrs. Louise Nickerson of Big Lake which stated that should would
have to have $90.00 a month from now on for the care of Ellen Tracy for the reason that Miss
Tracy is now helpless and not able to wait on herself. A motion was made by Bailey and seconded
by Briggs to allow this amount. Motion carried.
Upon motion by Ryding and a second by Parent the following were appointed on the Library Board
for the coming year:
Mrs. Earl Darrow
Mrs. E.L. Shadick
Mrs. Mary Howard
The clerk was instructed to send a bill to Elroy Cornelius for half of the fuel bill for the Liquor Store
Building to date amount to $60.26. This includes a bill dated Dec 1, 1950.
A motion was made by Ryding to approve a Western Surety Co bond of $5000.00 for Village
Treasurer, T.H. Daly. The motion was seconded by Bailey and carried.
A letter from E.R. Martin was read in which he offered to audit the Sewer account for the year and
make the annual report to the State Examiners office for $100.00. A motion was made by Bailey and
seconded by Ryding to accept the offer. Carried. The clerk was instructed to write Martin and also to
ask for four copies of the monthly Liquor report hereafter.
