VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
June 4, 1951
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on June 4, 1951.
Members present:
R. A. Ellingson, Mayor; Emil Parent, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ryding, Trustees; H.A. Briggs,
Clerk
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Ellingson. The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
Ernest Nelson and Oliver Micheau were present. They stated that several members of the Fire
Department have been donating their services as special police at ball games, parades and so forth.
They asked if the village would pay part of the expense of uniforms for six members of the Fire
Department.
A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Ryding to allow $100.00 toward the cost of uniforms
for six members of the Fire Department. Motion carried.
The matter of the summer recreation program was discussed. A motion was made by Ryding and
seconded by Bailey to appropriate $400.00 for this program for 1951. Carried.
A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Briggs to authorize the transfer back from the
Liquor Fund to the General Fund of $4500.00 and also an additional $500.00 from the Liquor Fund
to the General Fund to the Sewer Construction Fund. Carried.
