VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
May 5, 1952
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on May 5, 1952.
Members present:
E.A. Parent, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ryding, Trustees; H.A. Briggs,
Clerk
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Parent. The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
August Meyers was present and asked to have a curb laid out at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
The Council agreed to have the curb surveyed.
Edmund Belanger asked that a curb be built along his and Ed Belanger’s property. The Council
agreed to put in the curb if a majority of the property owners agree.
A site for a village dump was selected. A motion by Bailey and second by Dow to purchase the west
½ of N.E. ¼ of sec. 2-132-26. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Bailey and seconded by Ryding to appropriate $25.00 to Sherburne County
for weed control. Motion carried.
It was reported that Mrs. Selhauer needs her roof repaired and that her old age assistance would not
cover the cost. A motion was made by Briggs and seconded by Dow to appropriate the cost of
repairing the roof. Carried.
Lester Derr reported that black topping was necessary on Lincoln St. between Sixth and Seventh
Streets.
Nothing further was done at this meeting.
