VILLAGE OF ELK RIVER COUNCIL MEETING
July 7, 1952
A regular meeting was held at the Municipal Building on July 7, 1952.
Members present:
E.A. Parent, Mayor; Harry Dow, Dan Bailey, R.A. Ryding, Trustees; H.A. Briggs,
Clerk
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Parent. The minutes of the last meeting were read and
approved.
There was a discussion in regard to the school crossing on Highway No. 10. The Council feels that
the school patrol is not enough. The Clerk was instructed to write the traffic engineer, J.E.P. Darrell
at St. Paul asking if a flasher school sign could be placed opposite the school and that a change be
made in the 40 mile sign east of town.
On and off beer license was approved for Harley Holm in the Madsen Building.
To avoid traffic hazard in the down town area a motion was made by Ryding and seconded by Dow
to have trucks which are in town over night, parked by the old depot platform. Motion carried.

The council agreed to send a fire truck to Crystal for their parade on Aug 2 or 3.
